Transport Accounting Advisory Director within KPMG's Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) Practice

Our transport accounting advisory team is an integral part of KPMG's Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) Practice, but works across the public and private sector transport network.

Joining our industry leading practice will expose you to work on a range of high profile assignments helping our clients address their most challenging issues and achieve their biggest opportunities.

You will benefit from working with and alongside specialists from a number of disciplines and experts.


The Role


As a Director in our rapidly expanding practice you will be central to the development of our growth strategy, identifying opportunities for KPMG to make an even greater impact, originating new work, and managing sustainable growth.

As part of this you will have a particular focus on finance and accounting services to the transport network - the main focus is on the rail and bus networks, and there will be an expectation of close working with private sector transport operators as well as roles supporting public sector transport bodies.

You will bring together KPMG and client capabilities to solve complex problems and deliver ambitious outcomes.


As an experienced finance leader in the public and/or private sectors, you will have experience of delivering robust, high quality financial analysis, insights, business planning, delivering financial support to transactions, and private sector bidding into public sector contracts.

You will be working with senior clients including Programme Directors, Chief Financial officers Chief Operating Officers, SROs, CEOs and Permanent Secretaries, as well as board level executives in our private sector clients.

You will also lead, manage and develop KPMG teams, capabilities and propositions, and will be accountable for developing our ability to deliver high quality work for clients as we continue to grow our share of the market.

You will help our people to grow and shape their consulting careers across IGH and the wider firm.

Joining our successful practice will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping organisations, politicians, officials, policy-makers and public and private sector leaders address their most challenging issues.


  • Identify options and solutions to address complex client issues
  • Perform a client delivery focused role which typically involves the leadership of complex and largescale financial input to advisory services and transactions in the transport network
  • Develop and sustain client relationships by demonstrating insight and understanding of the challenges facing clients, at a personal, organisational and system level
  • Lead and develop insightful proposals and propositions which demonstrate and contribute to KPMG's market leading position
  • Win and manage client delivery engagements which are commercially viable
  • Manage our teams daytoday, to produce compelling analysis, presentations, reports and other deliverables that are well drafted, whilst also addressing complex, politicallysensitive issues
  • Design, plan, facilitate and manage events, workshops and interactive sessions to support our clients
  • Proactively maintain project oversight, including financial and project risk management
  • Develop networks across KPMG to bring additional expertise and value to our clients

Skills & Qualifications

  • You will be a talented and motivated senior consultant with experience of originating and delivering Finance and transport advisory work
