Post Summary
To attain learning and achievement of all students following Art programmes within the Academy.

To provide high quality support Art Education within the Academy

To develop effective partnership working with other staff to secure high levels of student progress.

**Duties and responsibilities:
- *
  • To ensure the highquality teaching of KS3, KS4 and 5 including:
  • Ensuring the quality of teaching Schemes of Work and assessment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques.
  • Help shape the curriculum and exam type to best suit the needs of groups of students.
  • Plan work in accordance with departmental schemes of work and national curriculum programmes of study.
  • Take account of pupils' prior levels of attainment and use them to set future targets.
  • Support with after school club and study support.
  • Ensure procedures are met in Assessment for Learning, SEN, EAL, literacy, numeracy and ICT are reflected in improvement plans and lesson planning.

Assessment, Recording and Reporting

  • Keep appropriate records of pupils' work.
  • Mark and return work within an agreed and reasonable time.
  • Adhere to the school's marking policy at all times.
  • Complete pupil reports in line with school policy. Attend parents' evenings as required and keep parents informed about their child's performance and future targets.
  • Carry out assessment programmes, as agreed by the school, or department.
