Main Purpose


To support the Manufacturing Leader and the Manufacturing team with reviewing existing manufacturing techniques and strategies, and implement solutions and systems that fit our client as a business in line with their Guiding Purpose and Ethos & Values.


Work with the wider team to assess and create a data driven picture of the current state and use analytics to support and inform planning for the future.

Supports the Manufacturing Leader with the creation of departmental vision and strategy which spansboth the future growth and day to day running of the department.

Acts as the departmental deputy in the Manufacturing Leader's absence. Reports to the Manufacturing Leader.


Duties to Include

  • Committed to our clients culture, working cooperatively within an inspiring team environment through collaboration and open communication.
  • Capture and analyse data on the current state of manufacturing through a combination of manual process and automated reporting.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for efficiency, building capacity through continuous improvement whilst maintaining quality.
  • Analyse and recommend systems to improve the Manufacturing production.
  • Provide performance reports to advise the Leadership Team and the wider business.
  • Encourage an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by providing current statistical information.
  • Support the day to day running operations of the Manufacturing function.
  • Develop, embed and support new systems to monitor production efficiency.
  • Advise on the planning and manufacturing schedule of our clients products.
  • Work proactively with the Process Engineering team, identifying optimal opportunities for improvement
  • Implement automation in a way that fits with an Employee Ownership culture.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:


  • Technical engineering and/or automation experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Automated data capture, query and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Team leader experience with the ability to motivate colleagues.
  • Experience of Kanban processes.
  • Eagerness to learn and problem solving skills
  • Change implementation and process improvement experience.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others in a collaborative manner.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and adapt at short notice.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Engineering Degree qualified highly desirable.
  • Experience of working within an Employee Owned Organisation
  • Relational database design and coding skills with SQL experience.
