Estimator - Steel Fabrication and Welding

Location:
Cowdenbeath

Salary:
£30K-£40K (Dependent on Experience)

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

Project Evaluation:
Analyse project requirements and specifications to understand scope and deliverables.

Material and Labour Estimation:
Calculate material, labour, and other costs associated with steel fabrication projects.

Bid Preparation:
Prepare accurate and competitive bids and proposals for potential projects.

Vendor and Supplier Negotiation:
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.

Cost Tracking:
Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.

Risk Assessment:
Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and propose mitigation strategies.

Database Management:
Maintain and update a comprehensive database of costs, pricing, and project-related information.

Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive project estimates.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel fabrication industry.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes and materials.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
