Reporting to the Director

Starting salary £27k-31k, pro rata to hours (£ / hour based on full time working week of 35 hours)

Part-time with flexible start and finish times

This role is based in a creative agency in town centre offices.

Initially we envisage this role will be part time - 15 hours per week but with the potential for additional hours by agreement as the agency grows.


This is a new role for the agency, and we are looking for someone who will relish setting up new systems, with good organisational skills and who will be able to work positively with colleagues and clients to implement new processes.

We are able to start this new role either before Christmas or after the festive period as suits the successful applicant.

Our PR and Marketing agency is dedicated to the veterinary, farm and pet trade businesses.

Established in 2002, we have worked with companies of all sizes, from multinational pharma and pet nutrition, to small start-ups.

Our team includes vets, digital experts, and designers, with significant experience in all aspects of PR, digital and traditional marketing.

As well as Companion Consultancy, we own Veterinary Woman, a news site Vet Report and Companion Design Studio.


We invest both time and money in developing and upskilling our team on an ongoing basis and have a strong spirit of collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to work with the Director to develop excellent systems for accurate financial tracking.
  • To carry out daytoday bookkeeping including reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Ability to run payroll would be desirable but not essential.
  • To create invoices and credit notes and maintain credit control.
  • Tracking supplier invoices and instigating financial good practice in purchasing
  • To set up new client accounts.
  • To help with administration such as hotel and travel bookings and supplier orders.
  • Strong communication skills and an appreciation of the importance of client relationships.
  • Familiar with MS Office.
  • To work with external management accountant to ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

  • This role is part time (15 hours per week). Fulltime working is based on a 35 hour week (exclusive of breaks).
