Summary:

Our client is looking for an experienced BS- or MS level Research Associate/ Scientist to join their high profile and growing Protein Science team.

The group is responsible for construct design, protein production, QC and analytics.

You will play a key role in protein/ antibody production and protein characterization to help advance their library-based display and ML platform.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

Create and carry out protein engineering, production, and molecular testing experiments, including expression and purification.
Work on key scientific advances alongside other protein biochemists and biologists by devising experiments and optimising strategies.
Collaborate closely with data scientists and machine learning developers to advance the ML/AI platform.
Manage and direct CROs.
Internally and at scientific meetings/conferences, present/communicate study findings with crossfunctional colleagues.
Stay scientifically current and contribute to the implementation of new technology and instrumentation.

Requirements:

A BS degree (with 5+ years of experience), or an MS degree (with 3+ years of experience) in structural biology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, or related field.
35 years of handson experience in protein construct design, protein expression in mammalian cells and purification with AKTA, and biochemical biophysical characterizations (SPR, BLI, DSF, CE-SDS, cIEF, DLS, MALS, mass spec, etc).
Experience with protein QC (aSECHPLC) is a plus.
Automation and/or librarybased screening (Yeast or Phage) experience is preferred.
Proven experience with protein sequence/structure analysis and characterisation of the sequencestructurefunction relationship.
Strong collaborative, organisational, and presentation abilities
Ability to lead Research Associates, Technicians, and CROs
Ability to document, maintain, and provide an organised account of lab work and results
