Description
Working with a team of Clinical and Medical Oncologists from the Cancer Centre.The post holder will support our oncology team, overseeing a total of 28 clinics and two chemotherapy departments (20 sessions weekly) across all trust sites.
The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical support across various cancer areas, covering all tumor groups except for rare and highly complex cancers, which are referred to our local Cancer Centre at the trust.
The Cancer Services Department operates from the two primary hospital sites within the trust.
This department comprises various disciplines, including medical, technical, nursing, and administrative staff, collaborating to provide an effective and efficient Cancer and Oncology service.
Annually, the Oncologists conduct over 20,000 outpatient appointments, the Chemotherapy Units administer over 9,000 treatment episodes, Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) engage in over 29,000 contacts, and the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinators assist with over 14,000 MDT Discussions.
Essential criteria
Full GMC registration & Licence to Practice
MBBS or equivalent
MRCP or equivalent
Desirable criteria
Higher Degree such as MD, PhD, MS
IncInclusion on the specialist register/ admission with 6 months CCT in medical oncology,
