Description

Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as volunteers.

Our Beavers section meets weekly on Thursday evenings, 18:00-19:30.

As a Beavers Team Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in our organisation and the community.

Your role is vital in supporting the Beavers Team Lead Volunteer and ensuring the successful operation of the Beavers program.

Here's a breakdown of what your responsibilities might entail:

-
Assisting at Section Meetings: You'll help at weekly meetings by setting up equipment and assisting with activities. This might involve guiding small group discussions, supervising crafts or games, or helping Beavers complete requirements for badges and achievements.
-
Supporting Outdoor Activities: Beavers often participate in outdoor activities such as camping trips, hikes, and nature walks. Your role will involve ensuring safety protocols are followed, and providing supervision during outings.
-
Promoting Scout Values: As a volunteer, you'll serve as a role model for Beavers and promote the values of Scouting, including co-operation, integrity, and respect. You'll help instill these values through your words and actions, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all Scouts.
-
Communicating with Parents: Effective communication with parents is essential for the success of the Beavers programme. The Beavers Team Lead Volunteer will keep parents informed about upcoming events, activities, and volunteer opportunities, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Parents may address some questions to you.
-
Participating in Training: To be effective in your role, you'll participate in training sessions provided by the Scout Association or other relevant organisations. This training will cover topics such as safety and safeguarding, leadership skills and outdoor skills.
-
Promoting Safety: Ensuring the safety of the Beavers is paramount. You'll follow established safety guidelines and protocols during all activities and outings, and be prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents as needed.
-
Fostering a Fun Environment: Above all, your goal is to create a fun and engaging experience for Beavers that fosters their personal growth, builds character, and promotes a lifelong love of learning and adventure.

By volunteering as part of the Beavers Team, you'll not only make a positive impact on the lives of young people but also contribute to the strength and vitality of your community.
