Job Description:

  • Production Shift Supervisor

Department:

  • Mould and Assembly shop

Reporting line:

  • Operations Manager

The job role
**Overall purpose and aims of role: - **- Lead and support the team of operatives on shift, to achieve targets, standards and key results with mínimal costs. Across two manufacturing facilities,

  • Ensure operators are working efficiently and safely to all company procedures.
  • Support the Cell leader to train, guide and provide advice on all production issues within the department.
  • Provide direction and support to the team on shift.

Main duties and areas of responsibility: -

  • Supervise operators to make the best use of labour, manage staffing levels on shift and support with training.
  • Ensure operating instructions and quality standards are maintained.
  • Rotate operatives to enhance flexibility.
  • Produce and maintain the quality and cost levels of all parts.
  • Ensure all targets are achieved efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Record and examine key data collection, indicate or take corrective action.
  • Ensure hourly part audits are maintained across both sites.
  • Ensure skill levels are maintained in line with company targets.
  • Motivate, appraise and develop all team members.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all areas.
  • Manage attendance and punctuality through appropriate actions with the Operations Manager and HR.
  • Make valued contributions to meetings, Lead production meetings.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to report any near misses or other health and safety incidents.
  • Work with adjacent Shift Supervisors to support each teams' requirements.
  • Suggest and be able to implement ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the terms and conditions set out under the company's employment contract.

Skills and attributes required: -
Good Man Management and leadership skills, within the Automotive sector but not essential.

Good communicator and inter-personal skills

Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.

Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Able to prioritise/anticipate needs.

Maintain a fair and consistent approach to all resource matters.

Good understanding of production techniques and technology.

Adaptable approach.

Attention to detail.

Numerate and literate.

Punctuality and reliability


3 shifts:


  • Days 6am 2pm
  • Backs 2pm 10pm
  • Nights 10pm 6am

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£26,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
