Senior Cost Engineer


We have an exciting opportunity to participate on a critical national infrastructure project in the North-West, by joining our Project Delivery Consultancy.


As an experienced Senior Cost Engineer, your role will be to act as a centre of excellence and be the focal point in delivering the highest standards of cost control, reporting and analysis for our clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of cost reports and associated documents.
  • Ensuring corporate systems are up to date and an accurate reflection of the project.
  • Preparation of Client specific monthly reports.
  • Contribute to progress meetings, as required, in support of the Project Manager.
  • Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan.
  • Monitoring KPIs as necessary.
  • Risk & opportunity management relative to the cost engineering role.
  • Project set up, close out and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of the project cost reporting system and procedures.
  • Application of project controls processes and systems utilisation.
  • Project cost forecasting.
  • Identification and valuation of Risk.
  • Generating and reporting regular project financial data such as spend profiles, budgeted and earned values, forecasts, completion costs.
  • HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field.
  • 5 years Cost Engineering experience in relevant high value national infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in project controls.
  • Fit easily into project teams and work autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and comfortable when presenting information to senior colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience in mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Have been cleared to BPSS as a minimum.
  • Proficient in Excel, Exposure to planning tools (e.g. P6).
  • An understanding of civil aviation industry would be advantageous.


The role will be fulltime with hybrid working patterns, minimum 3 days on site to be agreed with the client.
