Vacancy for a Part-Time Data Clerk (with some Medical Receptionist work)
30 hours per week (7.5 hours per day over 4 days)

Current hourly rate £9.92 but may be negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience (a pay award pending)

NHS Pension Scheme available to which the GP Partners Contribute 14.38%

5 weeks paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays

Previous experience of working in a GP surgery is advantageous

A medical terminology qualification is advantageous

The Emphasis of this role will be on the Data Clerk work:

Maintaining disease registers (adding Read Codes as patients are diagnosed either in the practice, secondary care or when new patients join the practice)
Recall patients for review (usually in Diabetes or respiratory clinics) but will also include blood tests and other followup in other clinical disease areas
Summarising patient medical records
Deal with incoming correspondence from secondary care/other organisations and send only necessary correspondence on to clinicians
Update nursing homes register and schedule visits to the nursing homes when new residents move in or when annual reviews are due
Work with the practice team to achieve the best possible outcome for QAIF
The practice is paperlight and good IT skills will be essential (training provided on practice software)

Other Information:

Some reception work is involved to cover colleagues' annual leave/sickness and for early morning telephone cover and late night rota. This includes manning the Reception Desk, telephones and repeat prescription line.
Using good communication skills to gain appropriate information from patients in order to determine how best to help them, signposting them to be most appropriate service (training provided) and assisting them with queries e.g. booking appointments, test results and processing repeat prescriptions

Use Vision clinical system and Docman document managing software
Primary Care Team consists of 5 GP Partners, 2 salaried GP's, Physiotherapist, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, HCSW and administrative staff
