UHNM Clinical Spine Fellowship

Choose the Spine Fellowship delivered by the University Hospitals of North Midlands


We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for highly motivated, ambitious individuals to join our UHNM clinical spine fellowship programme.

The post is for 12 months (although 6 month tenures will be considered depending on circumstances).


The post-holder will undertake operative procedures under supervision of a number of different consultants to maximize training in a range of techniques and exposure to a variety of tips to avoid pitfalls.


Work with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of experienced specialists (doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, managers and clinical administrators) that encourages clinical excellence and high standards of care to a diverse community of patients and their families.

Be part of a department looking to innovate new ways of managing acute and complex patients

Receive specialty spine surgical training and development to the standard required of a first year consultant.


In, addition the Trust is driven to provide the best learning opportunities to develop the medical staff within this programme.


University Hospitals of North Midlands has two sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital, located in Stoke-on-Trent, and County Hospital, located in Stafford. From these hospitals we provide a full range of general acute hospital services for people living in and around Staffordshire and beyond. The Trust also provides specialised services for three million people in a wider area, including neighbouring counties and North Wales.

We are recognised for our particular expertise in trauma, respiratory conditions, spinal surgery, upper gastro-intestinal surgery, complex orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and the management of liver conditions.
