INTRODUCTION

THE ROLE


Amanah Global Relief is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Fundraising Assistant to support the Fundraising Manager in implementing effective fundraising strategies and ensuring the financial sustainability of our humanitarian projects.


Key Responsibilities:


1.


Support Fundraising Strategies:


  • Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve financial targets and organisational goals.
  • Contribute to identifying diverse fundraising opportunities, including individual giving, high net worth donors, corporate partnerships, grants, events, Masjid collections, and online/offline campaigns.

Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:


  • Support in cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing and potential donors, supporters, and partners.
  • Assist in effective communication with donors, keeping them informed about the impact of their contributions and the progress of Amanah Global Relief's projects.

Fundraising and Event Support:


  • Assist in organising and coordinating fundraising events, campaigns, deployments, and activities.
  • Participate in representing the charity at relevant events and activities, including public speaking.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and initiatives.
  • Support in developing and maintaining relationships with Muslim community institutions, organisations, and community groups, including Masjids and Madrasahs.
  • Assist in organising and participating in Masjid fundraising collections for Ramadan and throughout the year.
  • Contribute to fundraising administrative duties.

Financial Reporting Support:


  • Assist in preparing regular financial reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the analysis of fundraising data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make recommendations for improvement.

Compliance and Ethics:


  • Ensure adherence to relevant Islamic, legal, and ethical standards in all fundraising activities.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations, and trends in fundraising.

Support Fundraising Team:


  • Assist in recruiting and managing fundraising assistants and volunteers.
  • Participate in providing relevant training and mentoring to volunteers.
  • Contribute to building a dedicated, trustworthy, and committed team of volunteers.
  • Support in providing guidance, structure, and activities to volunteers.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining volunteer engagement.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Skills

  • Educated to A' Level or NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent. (Desirable)
  • Islamic Studies graduate. (Desirable)
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong community engagement, particularly within Masajid and relevant institutions. (Essential)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with donors, supporters, volunteers, and other relevant stakeholders. (Essential)
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills to manage and prioritise various tasks and responsibilities effectively. (Essential)
  • Experience/confidence of public speaking. (Essential)
  • Proficiency in reporting and documenting activities, outcomes, and contributions to the fundraising strategy. (Essential)
  • Familiarity with the Islamic charity sector and a commitment to Amanah Global Relief's mission. (Essential)
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteers. (Essential)
  • Experience of fundraising during busy periods such as Ramadhan and Eid Al Adha. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Urdu, Bangla and/or Arabic. (Desirable)

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel nationally when required. (Essential)
  • Flexibility in work hours and at times, location of work, in order to accommodate priorities, events, functions, and work activity. (Essential)
  • Hold a valid UK driving license and have full access to your own car. (Essential)
