Job Description:


Based in London, the Associate will be responsible for conducting corporate credit research and evaluating trading opportunities in Latin America (and other EM regions), sourcing and assisting in the implementation of transactions and portfolio monitoring (via generation of portfolio metrics, risk and performance analytics) based on specific public credit strategies (e.g.

corporate bonds, credit ETFs, structured finance and credit derivatives).

The Public Credit group's focus is on the development and implementation of scalable alpha strategies within the Credit Investments Department.

Responsibilities


Reporting to the Managing Director - Public Credit (Credit Investments), this position is primarily responsible for researching and performing due diligence, assisting with building and implementing a wide range of trading strategies for alpha mandates within Public Credit.


Major areas of responsibilities include:

  • Helping to grow Public Credit group's presence in Emerging Markets, notably Latin America (LatAm), build relationships with key counterparts in the region
  • Using experience and market knowledge to provide guidance and assist in the development of the appropriate investment platform and strategies in the region
  • Identifying and researching new investment opportunities within the asset class: build financial and trading models, perform due diligence on industries/companies and conduct macro analysis
  • Performing fundamental credit research and presenting research ideas to broader group
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of investment recommendations and strategies
  • Part of team responsible for pricing and managing risk associated with various Public Credit strategies (e.g. corporate bonds & ETFs, structured finance, credit derivatives)
  • Assisting in the development of tools to trade Credit Relative Value ("Credit RV") strategies based on fundamental and marketbased research across multiple products


General accountabilities include working as part of the Public Credit group to optimize and implement strategies related to alpha generation.


Qualifications:


  • Commensurate credit research/investment experience, preferably with a Master's degree in Business or Mathematical Finance. A quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g. Math, Engineering, Computer Science) would be an added benefit
  • Experience working in Latin America or Latin American focused strategy/portfolio would be a benefit
  • Some track record of managing risk, conducting research, or providing analysis in the implementation and monitoring of Credit RV strategies
  • Good knowledge of fixed income instruments, credit fundamental, capital markets, and corporate finance as well as strong analytical skills
  • Relevant trading background seen as a positive
  • Programing (ex. Python, Perl, VBA) /database (SQL) skills are desirable but not essential
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism, and integrity
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneous
