System Engineer
Burnley

Position:

Design, development, programming, and testing of control systems (primarily Siemens S7 and Portal)
Ownership of the company's software registers ensuring correct revisions are stored centrally and correctly documented
Implementation of autonomous solutions to legacy equipment
Integration of Industry 4.0 solutions to new and existing machines
Integration of control systems within client site
Working alongside Systems & Controls and Mechanical Engineers on control system design including panel and equipment wiring design.
Design, specification, and procurement of materials/parts
Maintain upkeep of budgets and schedules for equipment development
Production of documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
Support to workshop and sitebased Engineers
Produce documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
Supporting field operators
Supporting workshop Engineers

Qualification and Skills:

Engineering based Degree or equivalent (HNC, HND), 2:2 or above.
Extensive experience in a relevant role or time served apprenticeship
Siemens PLC software experience
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Project
Solid Engineering knowledge base
An understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, & hydraulic systems and how they interact with electrical systems
Conversant with IEC
Good communication skills
Good timekeeping skills; ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own and others time efficiently
