Monday - Friday 40 hours a week

BMI UK&I have a permanent opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to join the team.


This role is based at our Wigan site reporting to the Plant Manager and is a part of the local Management Team at Wigan.


Role Summary
The HSE Coordinator role is critical to the success of exciting new initiatives and projects at the manufacturing plant.


As the HSE you will be responsible for employing industry leading H&S technology solutions, embedding a positive H&S culture and raising HSE profile within the business.


As the HSE Coordinator, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Operate a philosophy of continual improvement at the Plant across Health & Safety, and Environmental
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Managers
  • Delivering local, BU and Group objectives as a key priority
  • Ensuring information for the processing of complaints reporting system is achieved in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Collection of weekly and monthly KPI information for month end reporting
  • Maintaining complete and accurate Health & Safety, Environmental records to the Company standard
  • Coordinate all plant and cross audits, risk assessments, essential meetings which are relevant to the position and responsibility
  • Training and development of staff members, including toolbox talks
  • Undertake to investigate and report serious incidents to the relevant functional heads.
  • Empowerment to intervene with any noncompliance
  • Liaise with local authorities for investigation and inspections.
  • Keep local management teams up to date with local legislation
  • Ensure a policy of continual improvement is applied to all three disciplines by engaging employees at all levels
  • Ensure the understanding, implementation and compliance with relevant HSE standards
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that manufacturing operations are compliant with ISO9001:201

As the HSE Coordinator your key skills and experience will include:

  • NEBOSH L2 certificate
