Description

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join this unique and exciting, but extremely complex organisation based in Central London.

This role will sit within the central financial operations team and has responsibility for the preparation of statutory financial reporting and managing the year end processes across a variety of businesses and directorates with the wider organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, your key responsibilities, will include:

Responsible for financial accounting activities across key directorates in the organisation and for the trading subsidiary companies
Preparation of financial accounts for all relevant entities and management of the external audit process
Update and review accounting policies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements within the charity sector (including UK GAAP and Charity SORP)
Collaborate with other members of the Financial Accounting team to ensure the delivery of all statutory reporting and year end processes across the organisation
Answer questions posed by the external Auditors and work closely with relevant finance staff and key stakeholders to ensure all technical papers are delivered with all the required accounting standards
Working with the Finance Business Partnering team to support and advise departments on appropriate and the required accounting treatments
Prepare the definitive version of accounts and statements to be presented and signed off by the board and submitted to Companies House or Charity Commission

The successful accountant will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA qualified accountant with post qualified experience.

You must have gained experience working as a financial accountant or external auditor covering all aspects of statutory reporting within a largecomplex organisation.

Therefore, it is essential that you possess excellent technical financial accounting skills with a thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards, including FRS 102 and Charities SORP

It is essential that you have a strong appetite for systems, can manipulate large volumes of complex data in Excel, whilst always looking to review and improve processes and procedures.
