USER ACCEPTANCE TESTER

Location of work:
Hybrid with minimum 2 days per week at the office - The Lettings Hub, Commerce Road, Lynch Wood, Peterborough


Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm (plus some evening work to accommodate project releases when required)


Salary:
£23,000 + depending on experience


We are seeking to appoint a User Acceptance Tester at our Peterborough site, to work with our Change team, IT supplier and various business units on developing and delivering a new platform of integrated technologies for the lettings industry.

This is a Hybrid role working from home with a minimum of two days in the Peterborough office.

You will be responsible for the planning, design, generation and running of appropriate test scripts in collaboration with Change Manager leads to ensure that all functionality is rigorously tested prior to deployment, and that end-to-end regression testing is achieved to preserve operational control and streamline processes.

You will also be the interface between the change team and the operational and sales team to support with any system related queries and see them through to a successful conclusion.


The role will also support the business in designing and specifying future system functionality and will work closely with the Business Analysis & IT team in defining requirements and supporting the Development team during the development lifecycle.


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


To facilitate, generate and document business and technology requirements for IT change, including the management of requirements throughout the IT delivery lifecycle.

To be responsible for the quality assurance of the technical deliverables to ensure that the desired change and value to the business has been delivered.


To ensure that the internal and external customers of the change team are supported to ensure that the Lettings Hub products and online services deliver to the customers expectations.


To promote the practical adoption of project methodologies and standards, in order to provide a consistent and disciplined framework for the elicitation of business requirements and to reduce the risks associated with project delivery.


The role reports directly to the Head of Change and underpins the delivery of tactical and strategic change projects to grow The Lettings Hub.


KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Liaising with crossfunctional teams in providing key support throughout the development process
  • Assist with business process design, and specification of future requirements
  • Test planning including specifying key outcomes
  • Creating test scripts to cover all key areas of development incorporating both regression and new functionality
  • Working with the Customer Operations Team in creating and implementing test strategy plan across all relevant systems
  • Running test scenarios, and supporting other departments as required
  • Investigation of system bugs and construct appropriate resolution details
  • Manage the outstanding system queries and ensure that the development of the resolution is handled in a timely manner to appropriate standards
  • Inputting to business requirements that provide a sound basis for system build estimation, development and deployment.
  • Quality Assurance; quality assurance checks throughout the PMO process, adhering to the project methodology
  • Build relationships and partnerships across The Lettings Hub including engagement with relevant internal teams and working closely with any 3rd party suppliers that are required to work on the project,
  • Set and manage expectations of Change Managers, Project sponsor and Head of Change.
  • Manage time effectively, setting and hitting deadlines for completion of business requirements
Experience

Your communication skills should be strong, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams at all levels of an organisation


You'll have the ability to work to tight deadlines and offer flexibility in meeting all relevant test windows and to work proactively and consider wider business impacts.

You will have a good understanding of IT and liaising with IT teams in your previous roles.


You will demonstrate awareness of different project methodologies and appropriate adoption of them, and have excellent Microsoft Office package experience (including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Visio).
