Job Purpose and Scope:
- Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards
- Site HSQE inspections
- Communicate with Site Supervisors and Managers to ensure full understanding of information provided
- Assistance in the preparation and monitoring of Risk Assessments & Method Statements
- Supports, tenders and prequalification process of subcontractors
- Provides technical and specialist HSQE support to line and site management
- Monitors Site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system.
- Assists in development and implementation of strategies, campaigns, and improvement plans.
- Reviews HSQE management plans, environmental and operational risk assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS) along with COSHH data
- Attends and supports prestart, risk assessment, startup, site and client meetings as required.
- Management of Accreditations (ISO, CHAS, Constructionline etc)
- Reviews operational and site procedures and practices as required and report to the management team as appropriate.
- Reviewing where training is needed, booking and updating training matrix
- Internal H&S training including annual refreshers, abrasive wheels, face fit mask etc
- PQQ's for the company
- Quality control of our system fieldview
- Undertake audits and inspections, record findings, advise site and line management as appropriate and conduct follow up assurance ensuring nonconformities or actions have been completed within designated timescales.
- Monitors Site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system.
- Collate statistical data and assist with the production of month end reports in a timely manner.
- Reports to HSEQ and Operations management teams at core office locations on a regular basis and attends meetings as required for and on behalf of the Group.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant HSQE experience in Groundworks
- Experience and knowledge of Environmental regulations, obligations and requirements as relevant to the construction Industry.
- Hold a Minimum qualification of NEBOSH Certificate and IOSH membership (working towards Chartered Status).
- Ideally hold an Environmental qualification (IEMA or equivalent)
- Experience working with site engineering teams.
- Experience working with management systems 45001, 14001 and 900
- Knowledge of government legislation on all matters relating to Safety and Environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Card
- HSQE: 3 years (preferred)
Skills / Competencies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels.
- Autonomous role, managing your own diary conducting site visits to pre agreed requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- PC Literate with experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and use of the internet.
