Description

We are looking for an experienced, part-time bookkeeper, initially for 1 day a week (can be split in two half days) with the scope to potentially increase as the business grows

We operate in a highly rewarding industry, providing accommodation and support to people who may be homeless for various reasons and who may suffer from drug, alcohol or mental health issues.

We also operate a couple of charities which run alongside this.

Responsibilities

Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Complete VAT returns
Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
Produce monthly management accounts for Directors

Requirements and skills

Proven bookkeeping experience
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Handson experience with spreadsheets and Quickbooks
Proficiency in English and in MS Office
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
