Real Ideas are looking for a Cafe Supervisor to join our Real Art Make Print team at Ocean Studios inside Royal William Yard, Plymouth.

In this role you will supervise and develop a small team of café staff, providing exceptional customer service.

You will be responsible for organising and managing the day-to-day operations of the café and other spaces used by the customers, playing a vital role in ensuring everyone receives an amazing customer experience, and excellent service and is welcomed with a smile.

You will be handling ordering and inventory, creating work schedules, training staff, ensuring, and maintaining the highest possible health and safety and food and hygiene standards, and tracking financial records to increase profitability.

In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:

Day-to-day supervision of RAMP (Real Art Make Print) café team members at Ocean Studios, ensuring they provide a cheerful welcome, excellent, prompt, and efficient service that encourages customers to keep coming back.
Providing oversight of a range of key tasks, including running the café, rota management, preparing and serving food and drinks, ensuring compliance, welcoming visitors to our spaces, selling and checking tickets, and supporting and managing events.
Upholding Real Ideas health and safety procedures and ensuring that food and hygiene standards are always maintained to the highest possible standards according to SFBB guidance and protocols and ensuring any maintenance of equipment and machinery is reported in a timely fashion to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintain standards of performance that meet our legal obligations; monitor and maintain staff training and development needs, such as to meet food hygiene requirements.
Responsibility for stock takes, ordering, and ensuring the team receives and manages deliveries well.
Maintain daily financial systems, including petty cash, following Real Ideas financial systems and processes, and actively participating in weekly/monthly financial reviews.
Managing expenditure and wastage including portion control & menu consistency and quality and useby dates to ensure profitability.
Cover Café Assistant duties when required including serving customers, making food and drinks and cleaning the café.
Ensuring Ocean Studios is alarmed, locked and secure at the end of every shift.
Supporting and managing events/experiences delivery and facilitation including set up, take down and serving refreshments with occasional support to hospitality and other aspects of Real Ideas activity.
