Our client is looking for an experienced Stores Person / Stock Controller / Storesman / Stores Operative / Stores Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis (this will be following a 3 month probation).

This job also includes some FLT Driver / Forklift Truck Operative duties.

Salary is £11.11 per hour, then rises to £12.00 per hour after probation.

Hours of work:
Start time can be between 6.00am and 8.00am. Standard hours of work are 38 per week, Monday to Friday. Overtime is sometimes available.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • FLT operation around the site.
  • Dealing with suppliers, chasing up quotes, comparing quotes.
  • Loading and unloading stock.
  • Be responsible for receiving and checking all deliveries.
  • Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner.
  • Keep a record of and report any frequent shortages or spare items.
  • Keep inventory management systems up to date.
  • Carry out regular stock takes.
  • Pick products for staff members.
  • Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required
  • General Labourer duties may be required.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Stores Person / Storeman / Stores Operative / Stock Controller, so you will be able to start the job with mínimal training.
  • Be computer literate, in order to pick up inhouse stock management systems quickly.
  • Experience with a Counterbalance FLT Forklift Truck, including indate Counterbalance license.
  • Be comfortable with some heavy lifting, and to do physical work.
  • Organised with a great attention to detail.
