About The Role:

PETA Ltd are working alongside AJ Wheeler to recruit and train an Apprentice Business Support Assistant to support with the daily administration duties.

If you can work under pressure to meet deadlines, are quick to learn and can use initiative, this is the role for you.


Training to be provided:

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.


About the role:


The Apprentice Business Support Assistant will be working with the administration team to support the business needs across a range of activities.


Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Being the first response for phone calls and directing calls appropriately or taking messages for team members
  • Logging the post in and outbound, including scanning in and saving to the correct client file
  • Setting up client efiles when asked to by your team members
  • Carrying out stationery stock control and placing orders with the Admin Team Supervisor
  • Undertaking scanning & filing documents appropriately within the correct client efile
  • Using IRIS to manage and maintain the client database, including setting up clients
  • Attending face to face or online meetings to provide support to your line manager. This may involve occasional travel to our Hove office
  • Contacting clients to remind them of compliance deadlines
  • Providing support to the wider team when required
  • Ad hoc administration which is a direct result of work you produce
  • Attending training courses to support your job role
  • General office housekeeping, including making hot or cold drinks for staff and clients

Your contract will be available to you throughout the duration of your apprenticeship, we cannot guarantee a position temporary or permanent, following completion of the apprenticeship.


Essential Skills:


  • GCSEs in Maths and English level C/
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT Skills including the use of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Eager to learn
  • Shows initiative
  • Can take advice/constructive criticism
  • Excellent time keeping and confident in own ability
  • Task orientated and happy to ask for help
