Description
Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Buyers Assistant to join their team

You will

Assist in the management of contracts within the procurement team.


Assist with contract management, administration and negotiations for the business and other public sector bodies in accordance with EU Procurement directives, financial regulations and standing orders for contracts.

Advise, support and assist officers across all service areas on all aspects of contract management.

Identify new potential external providers.

Evaluate offers from external providers.

Support negotiations with external providers.

Able to maintain and develop partnerships with external providers.

Undertake other purchasing duties as and when required.

Place official orders using the computerised purchasing system.

Assist in the maintenance of the computerised purchasing system.

Assist with the provision of statistical returns.

Ensure best value contract arrangements are in place.

Attend meetings and represent the Directorate / Council as and when required.

Assist in developing, implementing and delivering of the Programme for Procurement within the business
