National ranging from £65,200 - £85,000 and London from £67,900 - £100,000 per annum

The team/department

Our department falls within the Intelligence and Digital function, a subdivision of the Data, Technology & Innovation (DTI) division.

The Intelligence and Digital function are leading the FCA in harnessing the power of data and advanced analytics to transform financial regulation.

What you will be doing- As a Lead Service Designer at the FCA, you will work within a specialist user-centred design (UCD) team to help increase the maturity of UCD across DTI- Provide expert design support to emerging multi-disciplinary digital product teams to design new products and services that help our users achieve their goals- Support your colleagues to understand service-thinking and see their service through a people lens with a design state of mind, helping them to map and discover opportunities to improve the lives of internal and external users- Engaging with and providing maturity within the FCA design community, supporting the professional growth of design practitioners and Design service improvements through analysis of service failure- Develop journey maps, service blueprints and other artefacts that best communicate systems, opportunity, and vision to varying audiences- Help embed the FCA Design System, identifying design patterns and reusable components to tackle common issues across the FCA

The skills and experience you'll have

Minimum- Proven experience working as a Service Designer- Delivering government digital services in line with Government Digital Services (GDS) standards- Experience of working in agile or multidisciplinary teams

Essential- Service design leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, lead and develop large diverse teams- A highly strategic but pragmatic mindset, can negotiate a highly complex organisation and leverage insights to deliver great services- You can share best practice and coach others, including those new to UCD approaches- Proven experience of a variety of prototyping methods and understand how Service Design and Interaction Design work together in practice- Evidence of leading on internal initiatives to develop ways of working and help develop the UCD community of practice at the FCA- Use data, user insight, design thinking and agile ways of working to solve problems, test ideas quickly, iterate what you do and embed a learning culture
