Description

Our well established client is looking for a Legal Cashier to join their Finance team, located in the Bristol office.


This role will predominantly involve bank payments from our Deputyship Accounts, whilst providing wider support for the firm's payments and accounting.


Day to day, you'll be successful in this role by:

  • Uploading internal and external bills to the Deputyship Approval App.
  • Making internal transfers through our Banking system.
  • Ensure that electronic payments are processed promptly and accurately.
  • Dealing with payment enquires from clients, suppliers and banks
  • Support with Bank Administration and ongoing maintenance for our Deputyship users and Accounts.
  • General Administration support to the Deputyship team accounting.
  • Support processing and printing authorised cheque requests.
  • Carrying out interest calculations on client matters ledgers ensuring that interest is posted to 3E and paid to clients in accordance to the Clarke Willmott interest policy.
  • Verifying and processing disbursements, including disbursement transfers, promptly and accurately via Chrome River and 3E as requested in accordance with UK VAT rules.
  • Ensuring all processes are carried out in accordance with the firm's Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Dealing with matter ledger related queries from fee earners, partners and other staff members.
  • Working as a cohesive team, adopting a flexible approach to the role, rotating duties as the business needs change to best serve the team and business as a whole.
  • General administrative duties including filing and archiving.


It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures.


This role is right for you if:


Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 GCSE passes at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths


Skills, Abilities, knowledge and experience:


  • Good knowledge of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules
  • Previous experience in a legal cashiering or similar role
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Sound IT skills including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
  • Experience of Elite Enterprise or similar system, document management systems and Corporate online banking.
