Romano Education are working with a partner Primary school school in Inskip, Preston to find them a fulltime general Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher in their mixed reception and year 1 class to start ASAP.


This position is fulltime and the hours are Monday - Friday 8.50am - 3.30pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

This role is term time only.

  • Pay rate: £13.20 per hour ltd._

Some of the main duties of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • To work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of support plans
  • Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Give regular feedback on children's development to the class teacher and file records
  • Attend to children's personal needs, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene, and minor first aid and welfare matters
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • To provide a happy, stimulating, safe, and secure environment where all children are encouraged to meet their potential and where their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are met
  • To liaise with parents to ensure that they are happy with the standard of care and have sufficient knowledge of their child's progress.

What you will need;

  • Experience within the last two years working with children, this can be in any setting, school, nurseries, scout leader, sports coach etc and can be paid or voluntary work.
  • Desired but not essential, experience working with vulnerable adults or children with special needs including ADHD, Autism or SEN.
  • Desired but not essential, level 1, 2 or 3 Teaching assistant, supporting children in schools or equivalent childcare qualification
  • Desired but not essential, experience working within a Nursing home or with vulnerable adults as a support worker or care assistant.
