The Housing Repairs Service is responsible for ensuring that tenants are provided with safe, warm, modernised, secure housing that meets the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.
We are committed to providing an excellent repairs service to our tenants and ensuring void properties meet our lettable standard for new tenants.
Our in-house trade team of 63 staff includes joiners, electricians, plumbers, painters, masons, fencers and labourers. We use mobile working IT to schedule and monitor each repair and void property. As one of two Repairs Co-ordinator, you will manage approx. 30 trade staff.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can lead and work within a large team, encouraging a positive working attitude from staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring performance targets are met, health and safety for staff including incident report and Toolbox Talks and managing staff in line with current staffing policies.
You will be line managed by a Team Leader and work as part of the wider Service ensuring the effective delivery of our responsive and void repairs.
Working as a key member of the Housing Repairs Service, you will assist in the delivery of a first-class repairs service for our customers.
You will report directly to the Repairs Co-ordinator and be responsible for delivering front-line services including property inspections of tenanted and vacant houses and providing customers with guidance on repairs to their homes.
Applicants are required to have an appropriate qualification to HNC/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a construction/property or building trades function.
In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are organised and can manage an allocated budget, confident in use of technology, have good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and a full driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience of working in a construction/repair's environment at a supervisory/management level
- Have a strong track record of leading and managing others
- Have proven experience in Health and Safety legislation and monitoring compliance
- A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of packages and experience of using a job management system. The main systems you will use are Total Mobile (Connect) and Northgate.
