Description

This is a new opportunity for an experienced Orthoptist to join our eye care team in a busy, supportive department based at Queen's Medical Centre campus.

The department is forward thinking, progressive and has a great reputation for student clinical placements, including use of Hololens technology to support

The Orthoptic department has a varied caseload, the post holder will participate in paediatric and adult ocular motility clinics, including virtual paeds clinics, the assessment of patients referred from eye casualty.

The department is a clinical placement centre for orthoptic undergraduates, optometrists, medical students, post graduate medics and other health professionals and the post holder would be expected to contribute to this clinical teaching role.

The othoptic department has an established preceptorship/clinical supervision programme for new staff to the team.
A Diploma/Degree in Orthoptics plus HcPC registration is required and experience as a clinical tutor would be advantageous.
