Overview:


This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised and forward-looking individual to join Buckinghamshire Council as part of a dynamic team in the role of Information Governance Case Officer.

We are currently seeking driven, efficient and organised individuals to join the Information Governance (IG) team to support the delivery of the information governance agenda.


Reporting to the Senior Information Governance Officer you will work across the IG team who are responsible for the management of the information governance agenda.

The teams' responsibilities include the overseeing day to day information governance queries, requests for information, training and communication of the Council's improvements to information governance, minimising the risk of data breaches and ensuring compliance with information governance legislation.

Please note that this is a grade 4 opportunity.

About the role:

This is an opportunity to engage with a wide variety of services supporting them with their IG requirements.

We are looking for individuals that communicate IG requirements in ways that encourage engagement and are understandable to colleagues outside the service.


Key Accountabilities


You will work alongside other Information Governance Case Officers processing Data Protection, Environmental and Freedom of Information requests, and supporting the delivery of a professional, compliant and efficient service.


You will plan, organise and deliver your own work, ensuring tasks are completed within required standards and timescales, and changes to priorities are accommodated.

Identify and recommend improvements in procedures, processes, and/or systems. Support the delivery of improvements in your own area, and support others in their development.


You will use your skills and knowledge to engage, influence and advise stakeholders in the pursuit of timely and thorough case management resolution.

Building collaborative and positive working relationships with services so that they understand their roles and responsibilities, particularly in relation to complying with policy and legislation.


Any-Desk:


As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required.

You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.


About you:


The successful applicant must have prior experience within an administrative role, preferably within an Information Governance environment and the ability to work on their own initiative.


Working in a challenging environment, you will be faced with a variety of competing priorities that will require a flexible and imaginative approach, combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
