We have an exciting new opportunity for a
Foodservice Development Specialist (America's)to join our team on a
full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a
competitive salary plus benefits.For this role you must be willing to move to several markets in North and South America.

Time in each market is between 6, 9 and/or 12 months. You must also have the right to work in the UK and be a UK taxpayer.

About the Foodservice Development Specialist (America's) role:

The Foodservice Development Specialist West, reporting to the Foodservice Development Team Lead, will be responsible for the planning, communicating, and execution of the Category Plan initially in Texas, with scope to scale across the USA as the Shell footprintexpands.

The key objective will be to develop a best-in-class strategic category plan, with the support of your line manager & FSC central functions (i.e. technical & NPD), & and align with local senior key stakeholders, such as CEO / GM & NFR Managers, tobuild the Shell Café brand with excellent operational execution & deliver a competitive Foodservice offer that will drive sustainable and profitable growth.


Key tasks of our Foodservice Development Specialist (America's):

  • Complete the induction programme provided by both FSC and Shell
  • Engage and build relationships and ways of working with the local team and senior key stakeholders, from CEO / GM's & NFR Managers, to Category & Territory Manages
  • Create & own the category plan (with support from the Foodservice Development Team Lead and various internal FSC functions) to execute sustainable and profitable change in the market
  • Follow a clear reporting structure to evaluate market progress with agreed KPIs provided by the Foodservice Development Team Lead
  • Planning, constructing, and delivering presentations to key global and local senior key stakeholders
  • Ensure the local project uses the correct guidelines (e.g. brand guidelines, food safety, etc.).
  • Identify potential barriers to project progress and effectively mitigate them or find solutions to keep the project on track
  • Be an advocate for the Shell Café brand (values, standards, market/category/product extensions)
  • Use the tools provided to drive sustainable growth and compliance (see 'Tools').
  • To share best practice & learnings with the Foodservice Team, as well as the wider FSC business
  • Conduct market & competitor audits to identify gaps / opportunities for Food service offer & NPD (New Product Development), as well as competitor promotions & concepts
  • Lead Business Intelligence agenda, including:
  • Regular product / range performance review
  • Detailed waste tracking & analysis
  • Planogram efficiency analysis
  • Promotion performance / profitability
  • Granular performance deep dive (by site / format / cluster review)

What we're looking for in our Foodservice Development Specialist (America's):

  • Strong networking and negotiating skills

  • Confident and resilient ways of working
  • Able and willing to embrace cultural changes and different lifestyles (daytoday)
  • Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Office
  • Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong category management skills
  • Food & Retail industry experience (retailer, supplier, or manufacturer)
  • Food Safety Level 3 essential, Level 4 preferred
  • P&L management experience
  • Good knowledge of the food supply chain and instore processes and procedures preferred
  • Technical knowledge of nutrition, food safety, audit procedures preferred
  • Experience of reporting into the board
  • Experience working in the America's food retailing sector would be advantageous
