About us:
We are currently recruiting for an associate with experience in disease work to join the nationally recognised insurance team in Scotland.
The role can be based from either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, and we offer a hybrid working arrangement with 2 or 3 days working from the office and 2 or 3 days from home.
The team provides expertise in disease claims including noise induced hearing loss, asbestos exposure and Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) / Vibration White Finger (VWF).
About the role:
As an associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the partner, that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Working with our valued and longstanding clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
- Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
- Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
- Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.
About you:
- Postqualification experience of handling defender or pursuer disease claims
- Experience of working within a busy commercial environment, handling a varied caseload
- Strong technical and commercial expertise, including a thorough grasp of principles and case law
- The ability to develop new skills and to use your initiative, with the support of an experienced team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
