A position has arisen for a warehouse operative with some driving duties in a Steel Stockholders in Lockwood, Huddersfield.

Warehouse duties include:

Pick computer generated orders handling/lifting materials.
Accurately identify products using measuring equipment
Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team or on your own initiative.
Operate saws to cut material to size and handle steel Loading and unloading of vehicles
Transferring of stock to its location using a reach truck and overhead cranes.
Preparation and dispatch of customers' orders
Carry out stock checks
Maintain high levels of Health and Safety Make sure work areas are clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work in order to meet operational requirements

Driving duties include:

To oversee the safe loading and unloading of vehicles at K Steels and customer/supplier premises.
Load,transport and deliver items to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner. Review orders before delivery to ensure that they are correct and complete.
Collect payments for some deliveries.
Ensure proofs of delivery are signed and returned to office.
To check the load security and weight distribution according to latest safe working practices before deliveries.
To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
Ensure vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use and are operated in a safe manner.

Working hours:
Monday - Thursday 7.40am - 4.40pm

Friday 7.40am - 3.40pm

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 4 months

Salary:
£10.42 per hour
