  • Through your work as a key member of the inclusion team (specifically leading our study room provision), you will ensure that students who need additional support and guidance in relation to their conduct in lessons receive this input and improve their behaviour choices.
  • The role will include:
  • Leadership of the study room ensuring a consistent, calm and focused atmosphere is maintained at all times.
  • Contributing to and supporting the development of the school's wider inclusion provision.
  • Being the key point of contact for house/year leaders working with them to track and intervene with students who receive repeated referrals to the study room.
  • Being responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
  • You will be joining a very passionate and successful team of pastoral staff led by highly experienced and effective team leaders. Together we are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for all of our students.
  • The work of the Inclusion team includes ensuring that all students understand, and are supported to meet, the school expectations and routines. More than ever we recognise that in a postcovid world that a number of our students require specialist support and bespoke intervention to help them achieve their potential. The inclusion team are crucial in supporting these young people to understand their choices, communicating effectively to ensure compliance in a supportive but firm manner. Our specialist team work to deliver a supportive, provision that enables students to reflect upon their actions, deliver appropriate, proportionate sanctions and to develop resilience and coping strategies which will enable them to become successful citizens both in the school and wider community.
  • Working both in our purposebuilt facility (The Boulevard Centre) and more widely across the school a key repetition will be that you have the presence, command and skill set to influence the behaviour of even the most challenging students. Therefore we are seeking to recruit an individual who is resilient, assertive and highly professional; someone who can provide a nurturing and caring approach but hold true to the expectations and the routines of the school.
  • It is anticipated that approximately 60% of the appointed person's role will be study room based.
