We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Ecologist to join a forward-thinking and innovative environmental consultancy in their London office

About the job:

Besides a 4 day working week (that's every Friday off) this consultancy offers a huge range of other perks and benefits, and their approach toward collaboration, work-life balance, and giving back to their communities is second to none.

Working on a hybrid basis you would spend two days a week in the office amongst all the action, or face to face with colleagues on site, and two days working remotely.

You will be involved in delivering protected species surveys and assisting on all survey work, from project inception and bidding stages through to the completion of the planning documents.

This could include Preliminary Ecology Appraisals, Ecological Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies, Management Plans and Method Statements.

You will develop strong working relationships with clients, have the opportunity to win your own work and develop your own portfolio, and be supported to become a Chartered Member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and access all of the excellent professional opportunities available to you.

You would be joining an eclectic and diverse team of professionals in Ecology, Arboriculture and Landscape, who have taken this consultancy from strength to strength since its inception ten years ago.

While the workload and team grows, now spanning six offices across the UK, they continue to champion the same deep-rooted values that spurred the consultancy's creation, and a mission to create a better world for people, communities and the environment.

Salary & Benefits:

You will receive a competitive salary of £24,000 - £30,000 DOE per annum, plus £3000 London uplift.

About you:

Minimum 12 years Ecologist experience, with a relevant qualification
An indepth understanding of legislative and planning policy framework
Experience liaising with clients, statutory body and Local Planning Authorities
Strong survey skills including extended Phase 1, protected species surveys and/or botanical surveys
A Level 1 bat license (or close to obtaining)
Experience of project management
A full UK driving licence
