Role
This Demand Planning position is responsible for supporting forecasting activities associated with retail and/or wholesale customers.

The Demand Planning assistant will assist in the creation and maintenance of an accurate multi-site forecast for their nominated customers, incorporating business intelligence, and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources.

Driving continual improvements to departmental processes and working practices.


This permanent role is based upon 40hrs/week between Monday and Friday, which will operate on a hybrid basis, likely 3 days week in the office, following a successful training and induction period.


What you will be doing

  • Generating weekly and monthly statistical forecast reports using the demand planning Optimiza tool
  • Ensure stable running of demand planning system
  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation and locations for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
  • Relating and measuring the impact of forecast accuracy, monitoring and reporting on important changes in sales forecasts and business strategies
  • Assemble and analyse all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, supersession, lost sales, OOS, seasonality and promotions).
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets).
  • Developing accurate new launch, discontinuation, and aged stock forecasts across your category
  • Liaison with Manufacturers on new and obsolete product lines
  • Monitor overall stock health KPIs (Stock Turn, Lost Sales, Excess stock, Redistribution minimisation, CCA control, Customer Order control, nonsupported Purchasing, safety stock review)
  • Periodic range reviews involving all necessary parties to reassess demand and product mix
  • Assess impact of nonsupply and propose alternative SKUs when required Retrospectively analyse results

About you

  • You will have a keen eye for numbers and an analytical mind
  • This is a fast paced role, for this reason you will possess good time management skills whilst having the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and achieve deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues is preferred
  • High level of numeracy with the ability to understand trends and patterns within numbers and seasonal demands & strong analytical skills
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
