Description

Freightserve are looking for an experienced Import Seafreight Operator. The company are a well established Freight Forwarder based in the Birmingham area.

Duties:

Process and manage import deep sea shipments
Complete all relevant import paperwork
Complete HM Customs import entries.
Manage customer queries
Arrange deliveries of freight with haulage companies
Negotiate ad hoc rates with suppliers
Invoice shipments
Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Supervisor

Skills required for the role:

Previous Freight Forwarding Administrative experience
Knowledge of Logistics and Transportation Market
Working experience of Export and Import Licensing requirements
Financial awareness re: shipping process (cost, profit / loss, currencies)
Educated to GCSE level, with grade 5 or above in Maths and English
Proficient User of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Good communication skills
Selfmotivated and enthusiastic approach to work
Highly organised with great attention to detail
