    Description

    Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
    Project Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on an exciting new build project involving the installation of conveyor systems. This role is critical to the successful delivery of a state-of-the-art facility.

    • Install, align, and assemble conveyor systems and associated mechanical components according to technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
    • Inspect and prepare parts, tools, and equipment required for installation.
    • Fits bearings, shafts, rollers, motors, and other conveyor system components with precision.
    • Performs on-site welding, cutting, and drilling where required to modify or adapt components.
    • Conduct load testing, alignment checks, and troubleshooting during and after installation.
    • Maintains site health and safety regulations, including keeping a clean and safe working environment.
    • Collaborates with project engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Completes relevant documentation and reporting for quality assurance and compliance.

    Requirements & Qualifications:

    • Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, particularly in conveyor system installation or similar projects.
    • Education: Relevant vocational qualifications in mechanical engineering, fitting, or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 3).
    • Skill Sets:
      • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
      • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
      • Certified Welding and fabrication skills (advantageous).
      • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Certifications:
      • Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
      • IPAF certification.
      • Relevant safety training (e.g., Manual Handling, Working at Height).

    Work Details:

    This position will be located in Aberdeen and will require working 10 hours per day, Monday to Saturday. The rate of pay will be £24.00 per hour from Monday to Friday and £30.00 per hour on weekends. A daily accommodation allowance will also be provided.
