Description
The Cardiac Surgery Department based at The Royal Sussex hospital has an established Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) team. This dynamic role functions as an integral part of the Cardiothoracic team.

This is an opportunity for a qualified SCP at band 7. We would also consider applicants for a band 6 trainee post.

The post is banded under Agenda for Change as a qualified band 7 with the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery exam and PGDip Qualification.

Trainee Band 6 position would move to band 7 once qualified in accordance with the criteria specified.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
Evidence of knowledge of the cardiothoracic speciality experience or generic surgical experience.

Current cardiothoracic theatres experience would be an advantage

Understanding of the Surgical Practitioner Role and its purpose

Possess the ability to work well within a team environment.

Evidence of excellent communication skills at all levels including verbal, non-verbal and written
