Workshop General Assistant

Job Purpose
Provide support to technicians by directly helping with repairs and maintenance-related tasks.

Assisting with stores/yard duties and QC inspections of equipment when required.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Helping workshop technicians with ongoing works.
  • Mobilisation and demobilisation/offhire of equipment.
  • Hose management, inspection, tidy up and storage of hydraulic umbilical and deck hoses.
  • Assisting technicians with spooling winch wire and hose Reeler hoses.
  • Assembling of spares packages.
  • Helping workshop departments as needed.
  • Yard housekeeping and tidy up.
  • To always maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • To ensure compliance with defined health and safety policies/procedures and identify any areas for improvement.
  • To ensure compliance with defined environmental policies and procedures and identify any areas for improvement.
  • To ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used in accordance with Company health and safety policies.
  • Any other reasonably delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements.

Experience, Skills and Behaviours

  • Previous experience as a general assistant/skilled labourer would be an advantage
  • Great team player
  • Work in a fast paced environment with a flexible attitude to working
  • Perform practical tasks in the workshop
