Are you a healthcare professional who has a keen interest furthering the advancement of our next generation of healthcare professionals? Are you looking to develop an academic career while still maintaining close contact with clinical practice? If so, we have the ideal opportunity to join our great team.

The role operates across a designated portfolio of the healthcare programmes offered in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences with a focus on secondary care placements for the Physician Associate programme.

You would operate out of the newly commissioned, state of the art Bournemouth Gateway Building, which is equipped with extensive simulation resources and equipment, along with learning and working spaces specifically designed for the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.

Within the role you will support a designated portfolio of secondary care Physician Associate placements giving you the opportunity to establish collaborative relationships with a wide range of people.

You will support students on placement, liaise with the secondary care medical education teams to ensure high quality placements that meet training requirements.

You will also manage problems that arise, educate clinical supervisors to support and assess Physician Associate students, and further develop placement teaching ensuring equity of teaching opportunities across placement sites.

In addition you will link with the teams in the Faculty to support successful practice education.

Innovative approaches that showcase excellent preparation of our future healthcare professionals are welcomed to ensure that our placement offer is effective and meets expectations of regulatory bodies and of course our students.

While you may occasionally be asked to cross-cover other programmes, you will have a clear support structure from the Physician Associate Programme team and Department of Medical Science and Public Health.

The vision of the Department is to provide high-quality education and research that supports excellence in practice to the benefit of all those who access healthcare, nationally and globally.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment.
