Description
We have a vacancy for a Quality Control Engineer to join an established engineering company in Bristol. This role would suit an enthusiastic individual demonstrating Engineering and Quality background. Ability to Inspect machined components using manualand automated techniques, including programming state of the art CMM. Supporting and facilitation to implement effective inspection control and certification plans. Driving daily quality monitoring, reporting towards zero defects across processes and stakeholders.


Responsibilities
Lead the development and deployment of advanced quality planning activities.

Implementation and management of inspection and certification control plans.

CMM programming in support of NPI activity and in process components.


In process production part approval using visual and dimensional inspection including First Off/First Article/FAIR Manual Inspection techniques, or automated utilising CMM, Opticline and shadowgraph equipment.

Final inspection of completed components or assemblies including signoff.

Manufacturing support to the production areas with reference to quality issues.

Accomplishment of shop floor product sample and process audits to recognised schedule.

Managing Non-Conformance Activities

Producing and reporting of quality key performance indicators.


Accomplishing investigation using established 8D techniques to determine problem, root cause, corrective and preventative actions in support of internal and external non-conformances.


Experience and Skills
Educated to HNC level or above or have a technical apprenticeship in an aerospace or similar engineering environment.

Proven quality control and inspection technique experience.

Operation of CMM equipment including programming.

Practical knowledge of manufacturing and quality management systems.

Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical data and customer specific requirements including geometric tolerancing.

Proven knowledge of SPC and the deployment of appropriate process quality tools and techniques.

In-depth experience of problem solving using appropriate quality tools and techniques such as 8D, 5 why.

Flexibility and desire to work as a team player in a fast-paced customer-focussed environment.


Salary and Benefits
Salary up to £32K (negotiable)

Monday to Thursday 7.30am-5pm, Friday 7.30am-12.30pm (42 hour week)
