Hays are recruiting a Full-Time Special Needs Learning Support Assistant in Caerphilly County for a Special Educational Needs School which caters for pupils aged 3-19 with a variety of additional learning needs and challenging behaviour.
This role will consistof working with small groups of pupils aged 10-12 with ASD and some aspects of challenging behaviour.
The school is highly regarded for their facilities and the fantastic level of support their well-respected and experienced teaching team provide for theirpupils.
The staff are passionate, supportive, and always eager to help students and their fellow members of the teaching team.The school prides itself in the fact that they are able to create and maintain a safe and enjoying learning environment for studentswith a wide variety of additional needs.
Your new roleThe role is confirmed long-term for an Immediate start, working 5 days a week.
However, the school are also looking for Part-Time staff, as well as those who may not be available until March or April.
Duties relating to this role include but are not limitedto:- Working with small groups of pupils aged 1012 with ASD and some aspects of challenging behaviour.
- Demonstrating high levels of patience and empathy when dealing with challenging behaviour.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and enjoyable learning environment even when placed underpressure.
- Assisting teachers when implement their lesson plans by ensuring that the children are engaged and cared for throughout.
- Working closely as part of a quick, efficient, and consistent team with other members of teaching staff to provide the best care possible for the pupils.
To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience working or volunteering within a School or with children over the course of the last - 3 years.
Some of the key attributes and skills needed for this roleinclude empathy, patience, and calmness. Further desired traits include responsiveness, problem-solving skills, commitment, and a high degree of motivation. A desired qualification is to be Team Teach trained.
