Strategically supporting the growth and development of the Client Services department


The Strategic Relationship Manager is responsible for proactively managing a team of Relationship Managers and a portfolio of some of BPP's largest Financial Services Clients, ensuring all contractual SLAs are delivered upon and to retain and develop keyclient relationships to support BPP's client engagement strategy.


What you'll be doing

  • Ensuring that the best possible client service is always offered to our customers
  • Thoroughly understand the fundamentals of our client's businesses with regards to their current and future resourcing and training models
  • Advising on all aspects of Apprenticeship training content and delivery to achieve the team's and our clients' objectives
  • Working with the Relationship Lead/Strategic Lead/ Senior Relationship Manager/Service Delivery managers/Department Heads/Faculty to support the formulation of strategic accounts plan including retention and growth strategy
  • Ensuring Apprenticeship forecast volumes are prepared and updated monthly on Salesforce and reported to weekly to the Assistant Client Services Director
  • Ensuring proposals/tender and contract amendments are effectively evaluated and actioned
  • Building relationships and interact with other BPP departments to deliver contracted services and seek feedback on existing processes
  • Providing client information to the Assistant Client Services Director particularly around client account themes, opportunity management and monthly forecast reports on a weekly basis or as required
  • Ensuring appropriate expertise exists within the team through coaching and personal development
  • Driving innovation and adhoc projects as required
  • Ensuring all internal compliance reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Attending networking events, seminars and conferences, including outofhours, as required in order to maintain personal professional development and to build networking and new business contacts

  • A proven track record of managing and leading teams
  • Industry knowledge/understanding/experience
  • Experience in working with demanding clients and under tight deadlines
  • Apprenticeships knowledge/experience
  • Project Management skills, managing complex activities to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Excellent planning skills, able to create high level & detailed plans
  • Excellent negotiating skills, being able to influence outside of line management structure
  • Previous experience of negotiating supplier/client contracts and understanding the key challenges
  • Passionate about providing excellent client service with a positive approach to dealing with people
  • Client centricity
  • Proactive and professional attitude to work
  • Ability to cope with conflicting demands and to prioritise tasks
  • Strong motivation and positive approach to team working and building new client and business relationships
  • Experience of working to KPIs and SLAs in a commercial environment
  • Management/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of BPP product range
  • Knowledge of existing BPP processes and support functions
  • Experience within the education/training sector would be preferred but not essential
  • Financial services professional qualification experience
