Ricards Lodge is a successful, vibrant and innovative school with a tradition of academic excellence, catering for girls between the ages of 11-16, with a co-educational Sixth Form. We are looking to recruit reliable individuals, with excellent communication skills, to join our successful invigilation team. The hours are flexible; it may be possible to work full days or just morning or afternoon sessions during the exam period. We have exams taking place from December onwards. Availability during May and June 2023 is essential.

Hourly, paid at £11.73 per hour
Hours:
Casual / Temporary
Morning sessions can vary but usual start: 8.30am
Afternoon sessions can vary but usual start: 1.00pm
Reporting to:
Exams Officer
Qualifications:
Level 2 English and Maths
Main Duties:
- To ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by JCQ (relevant documents will be supplied)
- To help organise students at the start and end of each exam
- To provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the exam
- At the start of an examination invigilators will be asked to stand across the front of the hall and supervise the students as they are seated, ensuring students do not communicate or have any unauthorised materials in their possession
- Attendance registers should be marked immediately at the start of the examination. A member of the exams team will take responsibility for this as instructed by the Exams Officer
- Starting and finishing times for exams should be displayed on the boards
- If there is a disturbance to the exam, invigilators should deal with the situation, notify the Exams Officer or Lead Invigilator and complete the JCQ Exam Room incident log form, to be submitted to the exam board. A file is in the Exam Room for such an occurrence the Exams Officer will contact SLT if necessary
- Students may not leave an examination (unless escorted for exceptional reasons, always check with the Exams Officer or Lead Invigilator)
- At the end of examinations make sure answer booklets have been completed correctly, ensure question numbers have been entered in the appropriate box on the front of the answer booklets
- In the event of any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of an examination, a verbal report should be given to the Exams Officer immediately
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- You must have excellent concentration skills
- Be able to follow strict guidelines and rules
- Be able to use your initiative
