MPA Armagh are working with the
Southern health and social care trust to help recruit a clerical officer in the Craigavon area for the sleep service team.


JOB SUMMARY


The postholder will be required to provide an efficient and effective clerical service using a range of technology within their allocated work area.

The postholder will liaise with appropriate members of staff within the Trust as well as external agencies, members of the public and if appropriate, patients/clients to ensure an accurate, smooth running and comprehensive service.


KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Delivery_


  • Deal professionally with telephone/face to face enquiries from staff within the Trust, those outside the Trust and members of the public, in accordance with laid down protocols.
  • Provide clerical support for the department to which they are allocated including the use of a range of technology, photocopying and faxing.
  • Open mail and direct correspondence for the attention of appropriate members of staff.
  • Organise and provide clerical support within their allocated environment. This may be within corporate support functions, or client / patient facing areas.
  • Carry out reception duties, as required.
  • Take responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining a supply of stationery as required.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc administrative and clerical duties, as may be required from time to time.
  • In some roles you may be required to word process a range of documents such as letters, memos, minutes etc. You may also be required to undertake audio transcription.

Information Activity_


  • Make efficient use of a range of computer systems, inputting and extracting data and ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Using standard documents and templates produce relevant letters/standard reports and ensure prompt distribution of same.
  • Assist in the compilation and presentation of statistical data as required.
  • Maintain, update, file and retrieve departmental records, both manual and electronic.

  • Liaise with appropriate members of staff within the Trust as well as external agencies, members of the public and if appropriate, patients / clients to ensure an accurate, smooth running and comprehensive service.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The post holder will be required to:

Qualifications / Experience Required (_
as per Personnel Specification_)

1. 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent / higher qualification


OR
1 years' experience in a clerical / administrative role


  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel or equivalent

Initially for 6 months

Mon - Fri or 4 full days may be considered

30 hours per week
