Are you a charity or schools governance professional with an interest in supporting boards to be effective and add value?


You will play a key role in the professional management the governance of a charitable foundation providing clerking services to support the quarterly Board and committee cycle and specialist charity governance advise and support.

You will manage the business of the Board, including the annual Board cycle, collating papers for and servicing Board and Committee meetings, following up meeting actions and co-ordinating the action log.

In addition, the Clerk will act as administrator of the Risk Register.


The Central Foundation Schools for London supports two inner London schools, providing capital funding, grants and busaries to enhance the education experience of their students.


As the Foundation's specialist governance advisor, you will provide advice to the Board and Chief Executive on charity governance and compliance matters and keeping up them to date with current charity and other relevant legislation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for which you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Leading all aspects of the Board and Committee cycle clerking and support requirements
  • Managing all meeting logistics, collating and issuing agendas and meeting papers, minuting meetings, managing the follow up of actions.
  • Attending and providing inperson secretariat support to the Board and Committees.
  • Maintaining up to date all records with the Charity Commission and Companies House.
  • Supporting the Board in running effective and inclusive trustee succession, recruitment and induction processes.


This role is offered
part time working flexibly around 20 days per quarter, initially as a fixed term role to 31 March 2024.


Salary:
FTE £32,000 - £40,000 (pro rata £9,600 - £12,000) dependant on experience.


Location:
The role is offered on a hybrid basis.

The Foundation's offices are based at the Central Foundation Boys School next to Old Street Station, London where you will be able to meet the staff team and Board members when required.

You will be asked to attend all Board and Committee meetings in person which are usually held on a weekday evening at the Boys School (Old Street) or the Girls School (Mile End).
