An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a part time housekeeper to work on Ward 35. The post will involve working Monday to Friday 15:00 - 19:00

Experience of work as a housekeeper within the NHS ideal but not essential as full training will be given.

Full details of main duties is available in the job description but this is an over view of the role:

Assisting patients with their nutrition and hydration needs,

Ensure unit and patient areas are clean and tidy,

Be a pivotal part in ensuring that the cleaning duties required weekly and monthly are completed to a high standard and documented

Management of stock,

Communicating with staff, patients and relatives both verbally and on the telephone, including welcoming to the unit environment.

We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.


The post holder will work as an integral part of the orthopaedic team ensuring a high quality service to patients.

They will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities in the ward area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.


The main elements of the role are ensuring the effective provisions of catering, cleaning and maintenance services on the ward.

You will also be required to undertake other non-clinical duties to meet individual patient needs as determined by the ward sister/charge nurse and to liaise with support service departments.


To assist the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services in order to properly maintain the patient environment.

The post holder must comply with all relevant policies, procedures and training on infection prevention and control.
