What will I be doing?

We're working to enhance the delivery of local services here in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that.

Based in our Highways Maintenance team in
Glastonbury, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day management of the Highway Service.

A typical day will involve:

Managing a specific part of the highway network, analysing local highways situations, solving problems, and identifying priority areas for maintenance and improvement.
Maintaining regular contact with the public and their representatives, providing technical advice, direction, and expert local knowledge.
Building excellent relationships with the local community.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

Practical experience of highways engineering.
Able to identify, prioritise, and order necessary maintenance works.
Able to evaluate information and identify solutions.

The salary for the role is Grade 12, ranging from £24,496 to £27,852 per annum
