Altum Consulting are recruiting exclusively for a Financial Risk Consultant to join a renowned property consultancy on an initial 6-month contract.

This role forms part of the regional team in the Middle East and will have close interaction with the risk,compliance and internal audit functions ensuring business controls are fit for purpose.

You will be working closely with the Middle East FD, local Finance teams and EME Risk & Assurance.

Individuals based in either the UK or the Middle East are encouraged to apply.

Regional travel will be required to Egypt, KSA, Oman and Bahrain.

Role/responsibilities:

Identify and understand the key financial risks across the business in the Middle East (initial focus would be Egypt, KSA and the regional team in Dubai)
Review and test the design and operating effectiveness of the Financial Control Framework in place to mitigate these risks
Work with local teams to address control gaps and control weaknesses
Identification and promotion of systems to automate manual processes
Review and implement manual and system driven delegation of authorities across the region ensuring appropriate segregation of duties
Maintain awareness of local regulations and standards to understand and quantify risks to the business
Mapping completion of local policies and procedures and provide support in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures across the countries including (but not limited to):
Revenue Recognition
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Expenses
Payroll
Financial Core and Reporting

Requirements:

Educated to a least Bachelor's degree level. Post Batchelor Degree /Professional Qualification desired
ACA (or other chartered accountancy board) exam qualified
Experience in/exposure to Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Audit essential
34 years' experience in a similar role. Regional experience helpful
Ability to work collaboratively to help develop and build frameworks around finance risk
Strong English skills (Arabic speaking skills would be advantageous)
